How can I get into Investing in coins.?
Hi all! I am interested in learning the ins and outs of investing in rare coins as well as silver dollars. I know there are some dates better then others and mints that add value.
What I'd love to know is where I could go to learn more about this.
Thank you
Brian

Your local library should have plenty of books on collecting and investing in coins.
Most people don’t invest in coins the collect them. Coins are a lousy investment, they just don’t appreciate in value enough to make the competitive with the usual financial instruments. The only real reason to collect coins is because you really like having them. If you want to buy a few coins the best thing to do is to go to a coin show (they will be listed in the events sections of your local paper) and talk with a few of the dealers.
I would recommend the two books in the links. The "red book" contains wholesale prices for all US coins, and the "blue book" contains retail prices for all US coins. There are also several publications that may help: Coin World and Numismatic News are two that come to mind.
